Claudius Peters A380

November 8th 2005, 1410hrs CET - Buxtehude, Germany: Workers at Claudius Peters Aerospace division in Buxtehude (near Hamburg) were treated to an unexpected surprise fly-over this afternoon when the first mighty Airbus A380 to make a homecoming to the place where it's fuselage had started life as so many panels many months before. Within each of those panels are fitted "stringers", the longitudal supports that give the aircraft rigidity along its length – over 5kms of them in every A380, all manufactured by Claudius Peters.

Just minutes before arriving at Airbus' Finkenwerder factory, the A380 passed directly over the Claudius Peters factory at just a few hundred feet above the ground, watched by workers and staff who rushed outside to see the spectacle.

" It was a very proud moment" said Manfred Fitschen, the company's financial controller. "The airplane passed so low over the factory. We were all so proud to be a part of this great achievement"
