Claudius Peters continues to remain at the forefront of materials handling and processing technology by maintaining a vigorous research, development and test programme at headquarters Technikum (Technical Centre) in Germany. The Technikum building also houses a permanent exhibition of Claudius Peters’ key technologies. Trial and testing facilities ensure that every new application is fully evaluated before proceeding to full-scale plant. Application problems, engineering data, risk analysis and quality controls are all part of the programme undertaken, together with courses and training seminars for technical staff and plant managers.
Our equipment is amongst the most reliable available to industry, but we don’t stop there. Our on-going programme is continually exploring the boundaries of reliability, energy efficiency and cost effectiveness. Often working closely with universities and with clients’ own scientists and engineers, Claudius Peters’ Technikum is regarded by many as one of the most comprehensive facilities of its kind anywhere.
Laboratory and Industrial Scale Testing

Its German engineering excellence continues to set benchmarks for the design, manufacture and commissioning of bulk materials handling and processing systems for the alumina, cement, coal, gypsum, steel and other bulk-handling industries.
The Claudius Peters Technical Center offers clients the opportunity to test the physical properties of the material and analyse the influence of material properties on storage and handling. A semi-industrial scale grinding plant allows for grinding and calcining of various materials.

Trial and testing facilities ensure that every new application is fully evaluated before proceeding to full-scale plant. We test the mechanical properties of new products. With our laboratory and our test center we have the possibility to analyze problems that our clients are facing in their installations and give them the right solution.
When characterizing powders, experience plays a decisive role. We counted 15 000 different powder samples in our data base. For all of them we produced a standard test protocol. The first protocol was created in 1928. We did a sieving of graphite back then. Nowadays our analyzing procedure is more sophisticated, but sieving is still a key for us.
In our laboratory we are not only doing the standard program, we are constantly extending our testing capabilities, characterising powders for our clients and for our own engineering projects. For some industries the Claudius Peters Standard test protocol is the starting point to classify and characterise dry powders. We are doing powder testing and characterization for our own projects and as a consulting for our clients.
We are not only analyzing the powder properties but are looking further. As part of an engineering company, it is always our focus to create a feasible and efficient solution to our clients. Our own workshop also allows us to build prototypes of small or large scale designs to verify proposed solutions.
